Need some fabulous table decoration ideas for your Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season? Like me, do you have more fun decorating the table than cooking?

When it comes to decorating for the holidays, it’s easy to think more is more for table decor, but sometimes, it’s okay to keep it simple! Read on for some fun table decoration ideas you can create in a pinch!

Arrange an entire collection of similar objects in different sizes as a centerpiece.

Grab a container and go on a shopping spree—right in your home! Look around for fun objects that could make great conversation starters or unique table decor. Go for a matching color, finish or theme for a unified feel. Think of a collection of branches, pine cones, shells, ornaments or whatever!

Lights are beautiful any time of year!

Add a lot of electric candles that match in color but vary in size. A collection of similar colored votives, vases  and bowls look great, too. Or fill mercury glass vases or hurricane lanterns with strings of LED lights that run on batteries. Those same lights work well in addition to any other centerpiece, too.

Scatter clear glass and metallic accessories with lots of sparkle down the middle of your table.

Gold and copper accessories are perfect for Thanksgiving. (And you can re-combine gold, silver and sparkly white for Christmas!) Silver, white, clear and blue metallic are perfect for Hanukkah and New Year’s Day.

Customize your place mats, table runners and name placards

Trying to squeeze in a crowd? Round, square or even shaped place mats save space over rectangular ones. And place mats are a great way to add color, texture or sparkle. They bring a unique look to your everyday dishes for any season.

Or, try table runners laid horizontally. This adds a modern touch, textured accent and color to any table, especially a classic all-white theme.

Don’t be afraid to customize!

Make your own unique seating arrangement placards with ornaments or other interesting objects. Paint with chalkboard or metallic paint and decorate. Fill Mason jars with candles, herbs, tiny ornaments or lights. Hand decorated place mats also make a nice gift when the meal is done!
